Jennifer Johnson

Weaver since 1990. First loom, Glimakra Ideal Countermarche, purchased as second owner 1992.

Moved to Greencastle summer 2021.

Opened studio to students in 2022. Why? To share the joy of creativity.

Weaving Instructor, Tabby Tree Weaver, Fishers, IN. Courses in beginning weaving and band weaving - love the creativity of new artists!

Weaving Instructor, Plymouth Place Senior Living, LaGrange, IL. 2017-2020. Director of all things “fibery.” Chief Loom Maintenance Operator. Textile Room librarian. Finishing specialist and main seamstress. Smile-maker.

Teacher. 2003 - 2019.

Museum Curator/Registrar/Preparator, 1988-1999. Duties at art and historical sites in the Illinois area: Augustana College; Rockford Chidlren’s Museum; Swedish American Museum of Chicago; First Division Museum at Cantigny; DuPage Historical Museum.

Studio Assistants

Bjorn is our feline (who believes wholeheartedly that he is a canine with super-abilities) - typically found sleeping in one of these IKEA boxes on the gables of the loom.

Holly is our caged parrotlet - typically found not far from Jennifer or the chirps are quite persistent.
